Cornell University with the National Science Foundation; Poster Development Special Project

Project Title: Developing Posters to Communicate Social and Ethical Issues to Scientists and Engineers Using NNIN Labs: A Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) as part of the NSF's National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (NNIN). Mentor: Dr. Katherine McComas, Social and Ethical Issues Coordinator, NNIN, Cornell University

LOCATION: Ithaca, NY
COMPENSATION: Travel to and from Ithaca and conference; housing; $4,000 stipend
DURATION: Approximately June 7-August 14, 2010

TASKS INCLUDE:
Develop, test and refine a set of "public service" posters communicating various socail and ethical issues relatred to nanotechnologu
Conduct focus groups
Produce a set of small, effective posters

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Student in Communication or Public Relations
Some science orientation preferred
Graphic arts ability preferred (professional graphic design assistance can be provided for final projects)
