Assistant Wedding Coordinator for Wisconsin Union Catering

Hey Guys! Were you inspired by Tuesday's chapter speaker about event planning? The Wisconsin Union Catering is currently hiring an Assistant Wedding Coordinator. This position is an integral part of the catering department which I have been employed with for nearly two years. COMPENSATION: minimum starting pay is $8.35/hr
DURATION: Must be available May - August 2010. Ideal candidate seeks employment through August 2011. 12-20 hrs/wk depending on season.

TASKS INCLUDE:
  • Assist the catering manager at meetings with wedding couples to help plan receptions
  • Maintain and update photos and Web copy
  • Create room diagrams for receptions and ceremonies
  • Enter food, beverage, a/v and setup remarks into a reservation software program
  • Take phone calls from wedding couples and enter final guest counts the week before receptions take place
  • Attend group wedding tastings on the second Sunday of each month to assist wedding couples in selecting menu options
  • Serve as a day-of coordinator for weddings and assist with room setups, clothing tables, setting up rental items, etc.
  • Perform basic clerical tasks

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
  • Candidate must be a UW-Madison Student
  • Availability to continue working into the fall semester
